Ο Πωλ Μαγκνταλίνο είναι Βρετανός βυζαντινιστής, (ομότιμος) καθηγητής Βυζαντινής Ιστορίας στο Πανεπιστήμιο του Σαιντ Άντριους. Έλαβε το βραβείο Ράνσιμαν το 1993 για τη μονογραφία του για τη βασιλεία του Μανουήλ Α΄ Κομνηνού (1143–1180), η οποία αμφισβήτησε την αρνητική εικόνα που του προσέδιδε ο Νικήτας Χωνιάτης.
